This week we’ve picked a very special charitable organization to showcase during Ramadan, our Partner, ICNA Relief. Let’s take a look at the work they do and how you can help.

Sign up for our newsletter and get all the DIYs sent to you email every time.  And make sure to follow us on Instagram for more Ramadan & Eid inspiration.

ICNA Relief – Muslims for Humanity

ICNA Relief is one of the largest Muslim American charities providing social services in this country, and our work is defined by bonds of community outreach and collective care. Through our network of donors and volunteers, in addition to our transitional homes, health services, food pantries, and other services offered through dozens of chapters across the country, ICNA Relief is always giving in every way possible. During Ramadan, ICNA Relief expands upon the work we already do year-round and creates a program catering to specific projects of need around the country. This challenge, “Be the Ansar,” calls on people to support any initiative they wish on a daily basis throughout the month of Ramadan. In past years, such projects have included expanding the free health services (including prenatal care) provided by ICNA Relief clinics, providing iftaar to refugee families, and collecting toys for underserved children. Donate each day, and learn about a new project you will be helping to support!

Food Relief

During Ramadan, ICNA Relief also puts together food boxes to distribute to vulnerable families in order to ensure that they have enough groceries to keep and break their fasts all month. These food boxes typically contain bags of rice, flour, and sugar, as well as vegetable oil, salt, dates, pasta, and other non-perishable goods. More than 22 million Americans lost their jobs as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, and we need your support to help our refugee, elderly, and vulnerable families to put food on their tables during the blessed month of Ramadan. As you find yourself beginning your day with a hearty meal and ending your fast with a feast, remember your neighbors who may not have much to break their fasts, and sponsor a food box (or even ten!) with ICNA Relief this Ramadan!

Ramadan for Kids

This Ramadan, ICNA Relief is also hoping to give back to those who give – especially the youngest of those! All our donors shine as they volunteer their time and energy, and we would like to give back to the youngest of our donors in particular through our Ramadan for Kids activities corner! Each day in Ramadan, a new set of activity downloadables are made available for kids to print out and use. These activities range from coloring pages, paper decorations to put up around the house, mazes, and flashcards. In this link, you’ll find printables! One for every day of Ramadan!

How to Help

Fellow Americans all over the country know that there is a Muslim presence ready to help whenever there is a need. ICNA Relief is proud, Alhamdulillah, to be one of those organizations at the forefront of marrying a sense of community and care in all that we do. This Ramadan, consider paying it forward through ICNA Relief, be it through becoming an Ansar or through sponsoring a Ramadan food box, and check out all that we have to offer our donors and volunteers as well at icnarelief.org/ramadan!

We encourage you to give what you can, or find a way to help in the way that fits your lifestyle and time. We’ll be showcasing more of ICNA Relief over on Eid Collective’s IG this week – so head over there to learn just a little more, each day.
